About

My name is Cara and I run The Sound Eye, offering Functional Kinesiology and Sound Therapy sessions.

I became interested in Functional Kinesiology through my own health journey and becoming frustrated with medical professionals focusing more on treating symptoms than looking for the root of my health problems. In trying to find ways to help myself, I realised more and more that holistic, gentle treatments were the things that helped me the most.

At it’s heart, kinesiology is the study of human movement and using muscle testing to understand how the body is functioning and where an imbalance may be affecting health and overall well-being.

Functional Kinesiology is a modern, holistic approach that combines ancient Eastern medicine ideas with traditional kinesiology techinques and includes nutritional science and emotional well-being practices to help address the root causes of imbalances in the body.

Functional Kinesiology doesn’t just focus on symptoms, it works across structural, biochemical, electrical, and emotional systems of the body for a truly whole-health approach to well-being.

Functional Kinesiology is especially powerful because it is a structured, protocol-based system, which helps to simplify complex health issues and give therapists clear, practical tools to support clients effectively.

My Kinesiology training is highly respected with courses accredited by key industry bodies including the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), the Kinesiology Federation (KF), and internationally recognised organisations like The International Therapy Examination Council (iTEC) and VTCT (a leading specialist Vocational and Technical Awarding Organisation). It is also accredited by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) giving me incredible recognition in practice both in the UK and abroad.

I believe that Functional Kinesiology and Sound Therapy are the perfect pairing. I have been passionate about music and sound my whole life, I minored in music at University and have taught piano and used sound as therapy for many years.

As well as offering ‘traditional’ sound therapy sessions for adults, I believe that sound therapy should be accessible for children and adults who need a more relaxed session than traditional sessions offer.

Sound therapy offers such incredible benefits and can be especially helpful for adults and children who suffer from anxiety, ADHD, or stress. I didn’t want anyone to be limited in their ability to access a sound therapy session. As a former primary school teacher, I was perfectly placed to offer sessions that are more flexible and accessible to everyone, including children.

I offer traditional adult only sessions, relaxed/child-friendly sessions, and private sessions.
